Brittany Yannucci, LMHC

“When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary.”

Brittany L. Yannucci is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been with Long Island Anxiety Care since 2011.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SUNY Brockport and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University.

Brittany started at Long Island Anxiety Care as an intern.  Under the mentorship of the former director and founder, she gained invaluable knowledge and insight to successfully guide and facilitate the improvement of peoples’ lives.  She coordinated the development of the Early Intervention Program.  She later became the Early Intervention Program Coordinator and specialized in working with the younger population of 4-7 year olds.  As Program Coordinator, Brittany developed a psycho-educational group called “Worry Warriors” which helped children with generalized anxiety symptoms to develop independent coping skills through hands-on confidence building activities, role-playing and relaxation skills building.

Brittany continues to specialize in working with young and anxious children, as well as, their parents in order to teach them the exact approach used to combat the anxiety.  She also has much experience with adolescents, adults and families.  She has helped those suffering from generalized anxiety disorders, separation anxiety, school anxiety, performance anxiety, children’s sleeping difficulties, panic disorders, trichotillomania, obsessive compulsive disorders, selective mutism, posttraumatic stress disorders, and depression.

Brittany is a proud wife and mother of two children.  She is genuinely committed to providing help and hope to individuals in facing their everyday challenges.  She will work to equip each client with the necessary tools and concrete coping skills in order to improve their quality of life.  She has a true passion and belief in the therapeutic process; it has been her dream to work with individuals struggling with anxiety since she was a child.
